Created to Create......
That’s the mantra Rnb Rik! lives by and when hearing his music listeners can certainly understand why. Known to family as Tari'k Akari Williams , his songwriting abilities is what makes him stand out amongst many other artists. More importantly, the truthfulness in his writing reveals real feelings and emotion being placed in each track. Experience is the best teacher. Rnb Rik! strategically releases his music and makes sure every song reveals a certain level of vulnerability most men try to mask.
" As men we tend to run shy away from expressing ourselves in times that we should. This is my opportunity to not only express myself, but speak for other men that normally wouldn't. Being an inspiration to motivate action is my objective. Luckily I'm able to do that through my music.." - Rnb Rik!
HIS PREVIOUS INTERVIEW WITH SHOUT ATLANTA MAGAZINE
Hi Rnb, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors that created success was being vulnerable through my music . It lets my listeners know I know what they’re going through or how they feel. In return it heals the listener. I’m just in this vessel to deliver a message that needs to be heard.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career?
We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about?
Created to create. That’s what came to mind so that’s what I put in my bio on (pretty much)every single streaming platform. The message I need to get out is bigger than me and requires a level of vulnerability I’m still looking to acquire. Therefore doing this process of full transformation, my listeners are hearing, the rawest and realest emotions as I go through things in real time. I’m just glad I woke up and found my purpose.
How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
Consistency is the main reason I’m successful. Hard work always beat talent. So consistency and hard work.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
I’ve learnt that time waits on no one. You’re either going to take the risk or you’re not.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take them to the Aquarium. The water and so are one pretty much. So every opportunity I get to be near it I make it happen. Places to fish draws up a certain level of excitement in me. Call me old fashioned or whatever you want.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My momma, dad, granny, grandma, auntie… Lol. No seriously though, each and every one of the people I named played a role in me becoming who I am today. My mother is the go to person to get EVERYTHING done. She just flat out makes it happen. I thank God for her and my Dad.
They’re the ones who showed me what real love was growing up.
